Abstract:

Francis Dhomont discusses the contribution and the ambiguities of the Traité des objets musicaux and presents relevant uses of it through the examples of the sound object, listening, and the new approach to composition by acousmatic composers. To conclude, he speaks about ‘figurative’, the current state of acousmatic music and the new cross-overs between electroacoustic and popular music.
