The author analyses space in electroacoustic music as an historical continuity and as an historical rupture. Of course, the Baroque, Classical and Romantic composers considered space but musique concrète and electronic music often provide space a much more prominent role in the compositional process. Flo Menezes presents a variety of musical and technical configurations of space through the discussion of several works by Stockhausen, Berio, Ligeti, Varèse and Boulez.
