Abstract:

Daniel Teruggi presents a history of computer music of the Groupe de Recherches Musicales. From the first preparatory studies in 1972 to the 1990s, all developments and technical approaches are analysed. This includes the first computer music studio 123 in 1977, the different versions the SYTER interface (Système TEmps Réel: Real-Time System) in 1984, the GRM Tools in 1989 (an adaptation of SYTER for personal computer) and MacsOutils in 1992 developed by Serge de Laubier for MAX. To conclude, he briefly presents the new Acousmographe and the future of SYTER.
