Abstract:

En trance is a piece for soprano, 13 instrumentalists and electronics by Fausto Romitelli and composed at IRCAM in 1995. First, the author presents the work’s technical implementation. In the second part, he analyses the work to describe the musical process used by the composer with computer programs CSound, CHANT, Audiosculpt and Patchwork. Sound synthesis was realised first in Audiosculpt and then Patchwork permits the control of diverse processes.
