The authors analyse the gestural control of synthesis through the study of musicians’ gestures. They develop their research in four steps: the definition and typology of gestures, gesture acquisition, analog-digital interfaces and connections between gesture and synthesis parameters. To conclude, they describe their own system, an IRCAM project.
