Abstract:

Through five of his works (Taire, L’écarlate, Marine, Demonology#11, Rare), the author explains his compositional process using computers from the first ideas to realisation with MAX/MSP. He discusses the problem of computational transcription of musical ideas and issues concerning the use of the computer in performance as an instrument.
