Abstract:

Straps was composed in 2002 for 6 instruments, MIDI keyboard and live electronics. The author details its technical implementation and analyses the work. Two computers transform the sound of instruments and create synthesis in real-time; the MIDI keyboard ensures a synchronicity between music and live electronics. The piece is spatialised on 8 channels surrounding the listener. In the analysis, the author presents the five sections of Straps, its different sound transformations and the digital synthesizer developed in MAX/MSP.
