Abstract:

SYTER means SYnthèse digitale TEmps Réel (Digital synthesis in real-time). After a short presentation of digital synthesis qualities compared to analog synthesis, the authors present the different technological aspects of the SYTER system from analog sound conversion to sound transformations. The last parts detail the advantages and disadvantages of interface, its instrumental performance potential and the new possibilities of working on sonic micro-structures.
