The author explains the notion of transparence in various musical works by François Bayle. Transparency appears in Bayle’s polyphonies when the composer realises very clear layers and add some “prégnances” (key sounds or textures that assist the listening experience). Through these transparent polyphonies, the composer always guides the listening experience.
