Abstract:

This article defines and discusses the digital waveguide method of physical modelling. It addresses the constraints of direct pulse-code modulated implementation of digital waveguide synthesis and shows accommodations that support the use of reconfigurable devices to implement digital waveguides; demonstrating how a delta-sigma approach can be used to produce a more efficient implementation.
