Abstract:

The author presents a short panorama of current Canadian electroacoustic music in three parts:

1. historically (experimental/electronic music before 1970, 1970-1980 - synthesizers and computer music, after 1980, the institutional acknowledgment) to recent tendencies.
2. The place of Canadian electroacoustic composers in the international scene.
3. A short history of studios, groups, festivals, institutions and record producers.
