Abstract:

This paper is a portrait of the Montreal composer Marcelle Deschênes. The author presents her importance in electroacoustic music and multimedia art. The composer also taught many current composers, participated in several musical groups and associations (e.g., ACREQ), and founded the electroacoustic studio Bruit Blanc in 1979.
