Abstract:

This article describes the author’s personal way of listening to Iannis Xenakis and Herbert Brün (their music, their words, their designs) and how his listening experiences have influenced his dialectical attitude towards their art and thought. He also describes how his listening experiences have reflected onto specific compositional explorations that, as a composer of a younger generation than theirs, he has been pursuing in recent years.
