Abstract:

In this brief article, Andra McCartney, a soundscape composer, discusses how her artistic practice often begins with soundwalking. To illuminate this approach she offers her reflections on a particular soundwalk that she did in Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver, in August of 1997 accompanied by another soundscape composer, Hildegard Westerkamp.
