Abstract:

In this article, the author presents his observations concerning computer music instruction at the University of Paris VIII - Vincennes, a programme of instruction that had been in place since 1969. He discusses pedagogical style, communication between students, the composer/programmer relationship, and some problems that were encountered in learning and teaching.
