AUDIUM is the name given by composer Stanley Shaff and equipment designer Doug McEachern to a theatre in San Francisco, and to the concept of music that dictated its design - the interactive exploration of space and the environment in music composition. In this article, the author presents an interview with Stanley Shaff in an attempt to bring his (then) pioneering work to the attention of the wider contemporary music world.
