In this article, noting that electroacoustic music has only recently become part of the contemporary repertoire and that subsequently the teaching and discussion of electronic performance practice has been scarce, the author discusses the particular difficulties of performing with electronics. She discusses the diversity of performance spaces used by electronic performers, giving a particular focus to room acoustics in relation to electronic performance, this includes the results of spectral and ADSR analysis of various performance spaces. She discusses problems encountered when performing with tape and when performing interactive computer music.
