Abstract:

In this chapter, the author presents a detailed structural, poietic (production-based) analysis of Gottfried Michael Koenig’s work Essay (1957/58). He also offers a brief critical discussion concerning the differences in compositional approach and musical aesthetics of the Paris studios and Cologne studios during the 1950s.
