In this chapter, the author presents a detailed structural, poietic (production-based) analysis of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s, Telemusik (1966). He is particularly interested in investigating the role of serialism in Stockhausen’s frame of thinking. Also included is an extract of a 1968 interview with Stockhausen in which he discusses the circumstances surrounding the origin of Telemusik and some of his philosophical, aesthetic, and technical ideas.
