Abstract:

Joji Yuasa’s A Study in White (1987) consists of two text-based, computer-synthesised works. In this chapter, the author presents a detailed structural, poietic (production-based) analysis of the first of these, The Sea Darkens. He uses sonograms to illustrate and contextualise his analysis.
