Abstract:

In this chapter, the author discusses some of the implications that the advent of digital technology has had on music. He pays particular attention to the impact that the computer has and may have on music making, highlighting this through a discussion of the Composer’s Desktop Project (CDP) of which he was a founding member in 1986.
