Abstract:

In this article, the author presents the outline of an approach to computer composition in which software design and compositional design form a feedback loop that taps into the rich source of musical knowledge available in the mind of the composer. In this way compositional software can evolve in a manner that supports the creation of new compositional approaches and musical languages.
