Acoustic Communication , Socio-Cultural Aspects of Electroacoustic MusicAbstract:
In this article, the author starts from the premise that communication is the fundamental human attribute. He argues that in the contemporary situation the integrity of the message has taken precedence over the communicative, there is a failure of mediation, a separation of sender and receiver. He suggests that the terms diaspora and translation become the key terms used when addressing this failure of mediation. He uses Pervaiz Khan and Felix De Rooy’s installation The Garden of A to exemplify his discussion.
