Abstract:

In this article, the author asks; are the ways in which a composer comes to particular decisions important elements that should be included in the teaching process? Arguing that criteria of judgement in the learning process should be broadened to include those of a wider community of interest, he presents a model of the learning process that includes an approach based on aural testing and experimental analysis. In particular, he investigates the contribution that electroacoustic music may make to this learning process.
