Schaefferian Theory Acousmatic

Abstract:

This is part two of a three part series of interviews in which French composer Christian Zanési discusses his musical experiences. In this extract he reflects on his meetings with Schaeffer, Stockhausen and Parenthoen, and discusses how a sound can become the catalyst for the development of an entire work. Indeed, the origin of his work is frequently a simple sound recording (street, subway, voice, etc.).
