Abstract:

The author examines the place of sonic art in the current cultural landscape. Through an analysis of various examples he criticises common categories because they do not correspond to the reality of the art form. He attempts to create relationships between high and low culture by a study of media convergences and divergences and cultural homogenisation and fragmentation.
