In addressing the question: does electroacoustic music still exist? Jean Piché observes the latest technological developments in electroacoustic music. He notes that because digital technology is so easy to use, innovation is decreasing. He also argues that the decline of electroacoustic musical innovation might be due to the difficulty in establishing a new language of electroacoustic music. He suggests that a solution may be introduced through visual music. To highlight this, he discusses his work with video artists and analyses new visual music experimentation in the United States and Canada.
