The author analyses the fundamental restructuring of electroacoustic education since the 1970s as teaching has gradually transferred from research centres to educational institutions. The author discusses the current situation regarding electroacoustic pedagogy, the relationship between the professionals and the institutions, and offers future solutions to some of the problems that are highlighted.
