Nicolas Schöffer, born in 1912 in Hungary, was a painter, sculptor, architect, town planner, designer and art theorist who worked at the same time as Pierre Schaeffer. In 1973, he realised five cybernetic sculptures for Carolyn Carlson’s choreography Kyldex 1 with music by Pierre Henry. Kyldex means “KYbernetische LuminoDynamische EXperiment 1”. The same year, he also realised the Tour cybernétique in Saint-Cloud (Paris) using music by Pierre Henry.
