Abstract:

In this brief paper, the author presents the interactive virtual world of Feeping Creatures - one that is based on artificial life and evolutionary systems, where each inhabitant has a sequence of musical pitches that represent its chromosomes. This work is part of a project that seeks to transcend ’point and click’ approaches to multimedia in favour of something more fluid and immersive.
