Abstract:

In this paper, the authors introduce and analyse four real-time, gesture-controlled musical instruments that incorporate virtual reality hardware, offering a virtual reality performance experience to the user: the Virtual Xylophone, the Gestural FM Synthesizer, the Virtual Membrane, and the Virtual Air Guitar.
