Perspectives of New Music: Vol. 33, No. 1-2: Princeton: Princeton University Press: 192-207.

Language(s): English

In this article, the author explores sound recording and the effect that it has had on music in terms of how it is composed, how we listen to it, and how we think about it. The author makes a particular distinction between recorded objects that serve to document live musical performances and those that do not document but are performances as and of themselves - electronic and computer music.
