Abstract:

In this very brief article, the author outlines the history of and philosophy behind the Gmebaphone system - an advanced (ca. 1981) sound diffusion system designed by the author and Pierre Boeswillwald with the support of the Groupe de Musique Experimentale de Bourges (GMEB).
