Abstract:

In this chapter the author introduces a discussion of technology for listening to music, with focus on the evolution of hi-fi systems. The author predicts the emergence of new types of hi-fi systems where the listener will have a number of interesting controls to alter some aspects of the recording of the music that is being played back.
