After a short introduction concerning the role of sound in society, the author presents two sound installations, Sound cruise and L’Arbre. The first installation occupied a stairwell and diffused recordings of city sounds. The second installation, realised with the sculptor Paul Mercier, was contained in a sculptured tree and diffused sounds of nature. The public could manipulate the tree to perceive different soundscapes.
