This paper questions the role of written notation/score in electroacoustic music: Is it possible to use the composer’s sketches to guide the listening or to assist the analysis? The author details three types of notation: synoptic graphics (these reveal the evolution of the work), the rules (these explain the work), and listening graphics/notations (these try to capture the unpredictability of acousmatic music).
