Abstract:

In this article, the author (the great-niece of Leon Theremin) recounts her memories of Theremin and how he taught her to play the instrument at an early age. She discusses various aspects of the instrument and its use: including - its construction, the quality of its voice, its place in classical, electronic and popular music, and the methods of playing and teaching the instrument.
