In this article, the author documents her approaches in the design of a sound installation located in Alma Park, East St Kilda, Melbourne, Australia. The installation, a park bench, presents the seated listener with a mix of stories in many different languages from current and past users of the park, old and young, dog walkers, nearby residents and newcomers to the area.
