Abstract:

In this brief article, the author offers his thoughts on improvisation in relation to a particular musical system he has developed. The system involves direct sound synthesis derived from video image streams. It utilises the built-in laptop microphone and speakers as a primary instrument to manipulate and perform the image directly while molding and reshaping the sound in the process.
