In discussing the need for a standardisation of terminology, and the development of a new set of meanings and definitions for a series of terms within the field of algorithmic composition, the author offers succinct definitions of several terms: algorithm, stochastic, chaos, rule-based, grammar, artificial intelligence (AI).
