Abstract:

The author analyses three works by Barry Truax: Sonic Landscape No. 3 (1975-1977), Riverrun (1986) and Song of Songs (1992). His analysis attempts to establish links between Truax’s approach to the environmental characterisation of sounds and his musical compositions.
