This article provides interesting reflections on the first historical cases of ‘live electronics’ (O. Respighi, I pini di Roma) and the development of the instruments and their employment in music: the Voder and Vocoder by Homer Dudley, the Fonosynth by G. Marinuzzi and P. Ketoff, the Bode Sound Modifier by Harald Bode, Halaphon by Hans Peter Haller, G. Di Giugno, works by J. Cage, B. Maderna, L. Nono, D. Tudor, D. Behrman, K. Stockhausen, Musica Elettronica Viva, and others.
