This article had already been published in Musica/RealtÓ n. 45, December 1994, pp. 151-166. It contains a brief history (7 pages) on the creation and development of the Studio di Fonologia della RAI di Milano in the 50s, helping the reader through the inclusion of a series of quotations taken from historical documents. The second part presents the transcription of some of these documents: (1) a concert programme, from 8 May 1956, (2) a letter by Luciano Berio to a member of the RAI who was was responsible for a report concerning the 1956 Ferienkurse in Darmstadt which Berio had attended, (3) a letter by Berio to people with responsibility at the RAI in which he asked for permission to propose a number of electronic concerts to the SIMC conference in Zurich in 1957, (4) a letter by Berio to Giulio Razzi proposing that certain electronic composers be invited to the Studio di Fonologia.
