The author presents a history of computer music. He details the different systems and software programs (MUSIC V, ST program, MUSICBOX, MUSCOMP, NRC system, GROOVE system, POD, IRMA system, MUSYS, EMS, HYBRID IV system, VOCOM, VOSIM) with examples of works from Hiller, Isaacson, Koenig, Xenakis.
