Abstract:

GENDY3 is an electroacoustic work by Iannis Xenakis whose music’s structure and sound synthesis are based on stochastic algorithms. This work is composed with a program in BASIC called GENDY (DYnamic GENeration). The author investigates the process of computation of this work at each of its levels from sound production to global architecture.
