Schaeffer’sche Theorie

 ]

A discipline which Pierre Schaeffer describes in his Traité des Objets Musicaux in which he draws an analogy between phonetics and phonology on the one hand and acoustics and acoulogie on the other. As phonetics is concerned with the sounds that form a language and acoustics is concerned with the physical foundation of sounds, phonology is focused on the function of sounds in language, acoulogie on the function of sound in the act of composition.
