]This term is most frequently used as the inverse procedure of time-stretching. However, sound materials can also be compressed in time through any editing or brassage-based technique. Time compression may also be said to have a poetic dimension; the telescoping of anecdotal material into a musical experience in Luc Ferrari’s "Presque rien no 1", for example.
