La morfología es la configuración general, la forma y el material de los eventos sonoros tal como estos son percibidos. El término se refiere particularmente a la evolución de los sonidos a través del tiempo. Aplicado a los estudios de paisajes sonoros, se refiere a cambios en grupos de sonidos con formas o funciones similares considerados histórica o geográficamente.
