Musicology of Electroacoustic Music [MEM]  >  Socio-Cultural Aspects of Electroacoustic Music  ]

The study of music from the foundational premise that music is, first-and-foremost, a social activity, music both reflecting social processes and structures and contributing to their formation and change. In contrast to traditional musicology’s analytical concern with the musical work, music sociology may draw upon a range of methods from sociology, anthropology, ethnography.
