Spectral Analysis

Musicology of Electroacoustic Music [MEM]  >  Analysis  >  Audio Analysis  ]

Spectral analysis might be considered the analogue to spectral or timbral composition, that is, through the analysis of the development of spectra in a composition, one gains a greater understanding of its content and development. Spectral analysis is frequently used in the compositional process itself, most often in the task of signal processing micro-level sound materials.
